Dutch Oven Deep Dish Pizza (On the Campfire)

So, this has been one of my all-time favorite recipes to do while camping!! Who doesn't love pizza and to have pizza out in the wide open around a campfire was the best of the best!

Here is what I did...and by the way did I tell you how easy it was!!

First off you need a campfire and a cast iron Dutch oven with a lid. Then whatever ingredients you like on your pizza. I used refrigerated pizza dough from the pop open cans. I started by greasing my pot, then I put the dough in and pushing it up around the edges similar to a pie crust.

Then just add your toppings...I used pizza sauce, canned mushrooms, peppers, onions and pepperoni and of course cheese. Once assembled, place your Dutch oven over the open flame. Add some hot coals on the top of the lid as well to get the even temperature. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the dough is cooked through and the cheese is melted!

Remove from the fire and from the Dutch oven and let cool slightly and then Enjoy!!!
