I am not a big fryer! I just can’t do it!! I mean I love the taste of fried foods and I crave them…in fact I grew up on them!! Fried foods have that special comfort food quality about them that just takes you back…but in today’s world we know a little better. So I have made a conscious decision to not fry…as much. OK …so I do fry on occasion.
So this is one of those times where you can take a little better approach to fix the things that you crave…Oven Baked Potato Fries!!
Here is what I did;
So I cut my potatoes in to 1/2 inch strips. I like a thicker fry…almost a steak fry!
Then I spread them out on a baking sheet and tossed them 1 – 2 tablespoons of olive oil .
Season them. I used a spicy seasoned salt mixture…but whatever you like will work. (Be creative…garlic powder, salt and pepper, smoked paprika or something else)
Then bake. I baked them at 400 degree’s for about 30 minutes or until tender. Tossing them every 10 minutes or so to evenly coat them and brown them.
Once golden…serve with your favorite meal!! This are crispy and well seasoned…and you would never know they weren’t fried!!
